LASIK (laser assisted in situ keratomileusis) surgery and cataract surgery use the latest technology to provide faster recovery times and precise results. At Vision Care Associates, we provide evaluations and referrals to area surgeons for patients interested in LASIK surgery or in need of cataract surgery. Dr. Gifford performs a complete review of your patient history as well as a full assessment of your eye health and vision. A current exam is important for determining if you are a candidate for surgery and if there are any other factors that may affect your results.
Once Dr. Gifford has performed the evaluation and determined whether you are a candidate for LASIK or cataract surgery, you will be referred to the surgery provider. The center will perform advanced diagnostic testing and will evaluate and finalize your eligibility for surgery. Various surgery options will be discussed with you if you are determined to be a surgical candidate. We will be in correspondence with the center regarding your evaluation and surgical determination.
Once your surgery is scheduled, we will schedule follow-up appointments for you in our Charlotte office if you have chosen to have us assist with your post-operative care. Typically, you will begin these follow-ups the day after the surgery for LASIK and 7-10 days after surgery for cataract procedures. Dr. Gifford is experienced in working with patients pre- and post-operation and will answer any questions that you have along the way.
We are always available to answer any questions you may have. You can reach us at any time at 704-541-0468.
